Stone Mountain Adventures was excited to welcome our much anticipated first session of campers back to the farm on Saturday afternoon after ten days of staff training! We started off the week with the first ‘Nuke ‘Em’ game of summer and a swim at Greenwood Lake, which we affectionately (and accurately) call Freezewood here at SMA. After a delicious meal, some ultimate frisbee in the rain, and a wonderful evening meeting, we were off to the bunks to get some rest before the first full day of camp!
On Sunday, everyone got a chance to learn to belay and take a swim at Whipple Dam, and our Bikemasters, Horsemasters, and Wakemasters had the chance to begin mastery of their activities. All the other campers hiked at Martin's Gap or played Ultimate Frisbee and Swim before a relaxing Power Hour of Freedom. We ate some dinner, and played Jud Games in the barn before heading back to bunks to get to know each other better with some games and activities.
With belay school out of the way, we are in the midst of an incredible day of activities including rock climbing, tennis, rugby, wakeboarding, Horsemasters, Bikemasters, SUP and sail, and soccer. It has been a great start to a great summer, and we’re stoked for everything that is to come in the next couple weeks!
