A COVID19 Interview with SMA Teen Camp Director Jud Millar

Posted by Jud Millar on Thu, Apr 30, 2020

Check out this video of Molly Millar trying to solve the biggest mystery of all: What's Happening With Camp This Summer?

Due to the ongoing COVID19 Pandemic we have extended the due date for tuition balance from May 1st to June 1st.
June 1st is 33 days away and we feel that we will have more information about the summer by then.  Please remember that our absolute number one priority is and always will be the health and safety of our campers and staff. Since my parents Pam and Biff founded Stone Mountain Adventures in 1983, we have been bringing campers and staff together from around the country and around the world. We are working hard to understand this complicated situation and this new ever-evolving reality that is COVID-19. Please know that every decision we make moving forward will be based on the health and safety of your camper.

We feel that the summer of 2020, if permitted to proceed, has the potential to be the most important camp season in our children's lives. Not since 9/11 have our children been exposed to such stress and an increased level of anxiety. Never have positive face to face social interactions been so important and needed.

As we've learned over the last few weeks, things are changing quite rapidly. It's impossible to predict what will happen tomorrow ... let alone months from now.
But here's what we can tell you: We are moving forward with the planning and preparations for the 2020 summer season. For us that means hiring staff, preparing our facility and renting vans.  That said, the evolving nature of this event requires us to be flexible in how we respond and provide service to you. Our commitment to the safety and health of our camp family is of utmost concern. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, especially rules issued by federal, state and local authorities and adapt our plans accordingly. We will continue to keep in touch with you through email as things become clearer.

Feel free to contact us anytime if you have questions or concerns about the summer OR if you have ideas for programming or creativity. Together we can make the Stone Mountain Adventures Summer of 2020 incredible.

May our children bring us comfort and joy.
May we all be safe and healthy.
May we be at Stone Mountain Adventures together this summer.

Thank you for your continued patience and support - you are our camp family!

Warm Regards,

           - Jud and Anne Millar, Owners and Directors
