The core competencies of mountain biking include:

  1. Riding Technique: This encompasses a range of skills such as body positioning, balance, and bike handling. It involves knowing how to maneuver the bike effectively in various situations, including steep descents, tight corners, and technical obstacles.

  5. Risk Management: Managing risks and maintaining safety is crucial in mountain biking. Competencies in this area include assessing trail conditions, knowing personal limits, and making informed decisions to minimize the chances of accidents or injuries. As you can see there is a lot to learn.  Choosing to send your teenager to a summer camp that focus' on building and refining these core competencies will help them become a skilled and well-rounded mountain biker.
