Here are a few camper memories from SMA Second Session, 2019:

Wow, another great year went by, another AMAZING summer at SMA Summer Camp for Teenagers. I learned this year to enjoy the little things in life such as the stars, or little memorable times with my friends. I came halfway through this session, and when I arrived the whole camp greeted and welcomed me with open arms. I am so so so grateful to have found a place full of outgoing people with big personalities and big hearts. This year I was in Mattawanna cabin and it was truly an honor. I love being someone that the younger campers can come talk to, and to hopefully impart some wisdom. The older campers this session have influenced me and taught me to be the best version of myself. I have gotten really close to the Furnace and Mattawanna campers and I am going to miss them tremendously. Camp next year will be kinda weird without them, but I hope with all the things they have taught me, I can keep the SMA Teen Camp spirit alive.

I do not think I could describe the amount of joy and love SMA Summer Camp for Teenagers has given me throughout the years. I started coming here when I was 11 in 2013 I had the most fun I have had. Now seven years later I sit here unsure what to do next. This session was the perfect capstone to my time here. This session was full of amazing moments and great friends. I came into my final session a bit hesitant, I was unsure how to act around people my friends knew last year that I had never met. Luckily all my worries were for naught as I quickly fell back into my old SMA Teen Summer Camp routine. This place has had such an amazing and profound impact on my life. I would give anything for another year or even a session. Sadly all good things must come to an end. I will always look back fondly on the time I have spent here. Most of all I will cherish all of the friends I made along the way. Thank you all: Liz, Ethan, Trey, Olivia, Lily, Alyssa, Sam, Chase, Georgia, Steph, Luke, BDE, Swags, and Judson. Thank you and all the others along the way for making this the best years of my life.

There is nothing more magical than a can full of sleep-deprived teenagers screaming their hearts out to the best of 80’s and 90’s music. To the untrained eye this may seem a bit off but at SMA Teen Camp it’s the norm. It’s crazy that there is a community like this that can take individuals from all walks of life and unite them in one place. There truly is no “normal” at SMA Summer Camp for Teenagers, there’s just people, and it’s truly amazing to see two people bond, who would’ve probably never even talked in real life. It’s hard to explain how much the atmosphere truly takes people over when they arrive at camp, but it just does. I really do believe that everybody is their best self at SMA Summer Camps for Teens and that’s what I love about it so much.
