At Stone Mountain Adventures, there’s a rhythm to camp life—but once a week, we flip the script with All Camp Day. This legendary tradition gives everyone a break from the usual schedule and a full day to laugh hard, recharge, and create memories that will last long after summer ends.
Session 3’s All Camp Day theme was “SMA on Broadway!” and campers hit the stage with show-stopping energy and creativity. Each cabin transformed into a theater troupe, bringing musicals, plays, and dramatic flair to life in only the way SMA can. With costumes, original songs, witty dialogue, and full-throttle performances, the skits were pure Broadway magic. After hours of brainstorming, rehearsal, and improv, each group lit up the stage in front of the Bunk Inspectors and staff—it was a standing ovation kind of night!
But All Camp Day is more than skits. The morning kicks off with a much-loved late wake-up (cue the cheering), followed by a special breakfast featuring donuts, bagels, and big smiles. From there, it’s into Cabin Deep Clean with a twist: while scrubbing and straightening, campers also rehearse their Broadway numbers—because at SMA, even cleaning comes with choreography.
In the afternoon, we shifted the spotlight from the stage to service, with campers participating in meaningful Service Day Projects. Giving back is a core value at SMA, and we believe that even small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Campers chose from a variety of projects that helped our local community and the world beyond:
-
Trail maintenance at the Allegrippis Trails at Raystown Lake, where campers helped repair and improve some of the region’s best-loved mountain biking paths.
-
Weeding and beautifying the gardens at the Huntingdon Community Center, giving this vital gathering space a fresh and welcoming feel.
-
Hosting three “Alex’s Lemonade Stands” in downtown Huntingdon to raise money for pediatric cancer research—a cause close to many of our hearts.
These acts of service weren’t just chores—they were opportunities to grow, reflect, and realize the power we have to make the world better.
In the evening, we will reunite at a pavilion at Raystown lake for our All Camp Day BBQ for good food, some games, and connection. During the evening meeting, we will introduced the SMAM Program (Stone Mountain Activity Masters), which encourages campers to try new things, embrace challenges, and earn the coveted SMA water bottle—because growth happens in all directions.
We will close the day with small group candlelight meetings, a peaceful circle of sharing, where campers reflected on the day’s experiences, the joy of performing, and the meaning of giving back. All Camp Day is a celebration of creativity, connection, and community—whether campers are sweeping floors, staging a skit, or serving others, they’re building character and friendships that last a lifetime.
Enjoy the photos—we hope you can feel a little bit of the Broadway sparkle and the spirit of service that filled camp this week!
