The final session of the year has launched and the challenging, fun and awesome activities that we have on offer have enabled everyone to create beautiful memories. We began the final session of the year with introductions so that everyone can get to know each other and speed up the transition into being a camper and living the sma lifestyle. Together as a camp we know everyone and have created friendships that will last a lifetime!
This session hosts a wide range of talents including mountain bikers, Wakemasters, rock climbers and many more. Raystown lake, as beautiful as it is, is the place where challenges are faced and with the help of the expert staff team everyone has done amazingly.
The Allegrippis trails at Raystown is a great place for people to shred the trails and improve their skills, as well as the skills park which is also at Raystown. The skills park is THE PLACE to be when trying to hit jumps, flicks and tricks and some even hitting the WHALE TAIL. The kids on the trails really are feeling the
The Raystown lake itself is the home for the Wakemasters, and everyone has worked really hard to stand up on the board. To see the improvements made by everyone is a testament to what the SMA spirit is about! The activities on the lake include wakeboarding, knee boarding, belly whomping, waterskiing and even just swimming at the lake.
We also have horse-riding as a morning activity and the kids have a chance to take care of a horse and then ride the horse for the morning., This activity is truly awesome and allows for a truly great experience to be had.
3 overnights have gone out which were the rock climbing, mountain biking, and wake overnights. They were all awesome and everyone that had the opportunity to go to the overnights really had a great experience, doing their respective activities and the camping out at their camping spots having mountain pies and smores for dinner and then waking up to do more of their activities.
For evening activates we have introduced everyone while playing Jud games, invention convention which has a beautiful description in the SMA newsletter “The Nyooz”, and the Huntingdon county fair which happened on Friday. All of these activities and the morning and afternoon activities all add up to create an SMA week of awesomeness.
Today is our all-camp day and this means a camp sleep in with donuts and bagels for breakfast and a BBQ for dinner! This marks the middle of a two-week session for most of the campers here.
Unfortunately for some today is the last day for some of the campers who have signed up for a one-week session. The overall camp experience for everyone has been awesome we are looking forward to SMA4-2 where we know that friendships will ignite, memories will be made and challenges will be accepted.
