SMA Teen Summer Camp is excited to announce we will host a kids and teen ride on Sunday morning of Dirtfest! We are thrilled to be able to share the magic of mountain biking AND the incredible Allegrippis trails with the kids and teens who attend Dirtfest. Stone Mountain Adventures is a co-ed, overnight teen summer camp located in central PA offering Adventure Activities (Including Mountain Biking), Water Sports, Traditional Sports, Creative Arts and Community Service. We also have a specialized Mountain Biking program for kids who want to ride the Alligrippis Trails everyday that they are at SMA called Mountain Bike Masters.

What: Kids and Teen Mountain Bike Ride at Dirtfest 2016 ending on a houseboat!

When: Sunday, May 22nd from 10am to 12.30

Where: Meet at the Bakers Hollow Parking Lot at 10am

This ride will begin at 10am on Sunday, May 22nd at the Bakers Hollow Parking Lot.  This ride is open to kids and teens between the ages of 10 and 17.  This year we plan to on doing 2 rides: a more chill ride for beginners and a longer, more intense ride for expereinced riders.  Stone Mountain Adventures Teen Mountain Biking Summer Camp Directors and staff will join in and supervise the ride.

Easier Ride:  This ride starts on Buck to Fawn to Osprey to the Epic Hydro Loop. 

Intermediate Ride: This ride also starts on Buck to Allie to Grippis to Ridge to Rays Revenge to Sidewinder to Osprey to Hydro Loop.

Here’s where it gets interesting: when the Hydro Loop drops down to the waters edge we will board a house boat with our bikes and set sail on the waters of Raystown Lake.  Once on the boat we’ll stop for a swim, have some lunch, and return to Susquehannock Campground Site 15 between 12.30 and 1pm.

Mom and dad, this is not a babysitting service, this is a teen and tween mountain bike ride open to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.  Riders must come with their own helmet and bike, or they can demo a bike as well. 

Parents must sign a Liability Release Form.

Riders must pre-register either on the Stone Mountain Adventures website or at our booth in the Expo area of Dirtfest. 

The SMA Mountain Bike Masters Program is ideal for campers who are passionate about mountain biking excited about the opportunity to ride world class trails on a daily basis. Campers in the program ride every morning on single track trails at Raystown Lake called the Allegrippis Trail System. They were described in a Dirtrag Magazine article as "Thirty-three miles of buttery smooth single-track bliss". Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff are excited to ride every day and help campers hone their riding skills and confidence. The MOUNTAIN BIKE MASTERS PROGRAM is limited to eight campers. Campers not enrolled in the Mt Bike Masters Program will get ample time to mountain bike during their time at SMA.

Stone Mountain Adventures (SMA) is a co-ed overnight teen and "tween" summer camp for 60 teenagers ages 12-16 located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania.

We offer exciting and engaging activities and events everyday including:

• Traditional Sports
• Community Service
• Creative Arts

Our teen “tween” campers learn new skills, gain self confidence, make strong friendships and become members of our strong, value centered summer community.

• Campers increase self confidence and Independence

As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school.

The result is that campers feel a new found freedom to explore who they truly are while at the same time feeling like they have a new “home away from home” at Stone Mountain Adventures.

1:00 pm: Five Ten Skills Clinic – Braking: When, Why, How Much, Which One.

2:00 pm: SRAM Women’s Skills Clinic – Beginner basics: Learn the essentials of mountain biking. Skills: Setting up your bike, shifting, and braking. Location: Skills Area.

3:00 pm: SR Suntour presents Beer School - Learn about speciality Green Flash Brewing beers with Stewards of Beer. Sign up at the SR Suntour booth. Limited to 30 spots. Must have ID and wristband.

4:00 pm: SRAM Women’s Skills Clinic - Beginner basics: Learn to find your perfect balance on the bike. Skills: Bike and body separation and cornering techniques. Location: Skills Area.

5:00 pm: Happy Hour – Pivot Cycles presents Happy Valley Brewing Company. Location: Pivot booth.

5:30 pm: Five Ten Skills Clinic – Pump and Flow: Work the Terrain for Speed, Traction and Flow    

6:00 pm: IMBA Fundraising Cruise on the Princess. Location: Seven Points Marina.

6:00 pm: Happy Hour: DT Swiss presents Lagunitas Brewing. Location: DT Swiss booth.

6:00 pm: Expo Closes – Demo Bikes Must Be Returned

7:00 pm: Bike Shuttle Stops. People Shuttle Continues until 11:00 pm.

8:00 pm: Happy Valley Brewing Company Weekend Welcome Back! Live Music: Hogmaw. Location: Big Top Tent Site 13 of Susquehannock Campground. Kick-off to the weekend with live music and beer from HVBC. Doan’s Bones and Wabi Sabi Sushi serving food. Please utilize the free shuttle service. Must have ID and wristband.

8:00 pm: Movie Night: NICA presents Singletrack High. Amphitheater at Seven Points Visitors Center.

Saturday: May 21

9:00 am: Expo Opens - Standing Stone Coffee Company Coffee Opens. (buy 1 get 1 free coffee until 10am)

9:00 am: Group Ride – Wolf Tooth Components presents the Epic Ride. Location: Wolf Tooth Components booth. This 6-hour ride is only for the most physically fit. Limited to 30 riders.

9:00 am: Group Ride – WTB presents the Coffee & Do nut Epic Ride. Location: Start and Finish at WTB booth. The opposite of the Epic Ride. Start slow and taper off quickly on this 3-4 hour ride. Refuel with coffee and donuts mid ride.

9:00 am: Five Ten Skills Clinic – Pump and Flow: Work the Terrain for Speed, Traction and Flow

9:00 pm: Rothrock Outfitters Kayak and Paddleboard Demos. Location: Seven Points Marina. Time: 9 am – 5 pm. Check out kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards from NRS, Yolo, Jackson, Current Designs, Wenonah, and Ocean Kayak.

11:00 am: Dirt Sculpt Parks presents: Building Bike Parks and Trails From Concept to Construction. Location: Visitor’s Center at Seven Points Campground. Learn how to build bike parks and trails and get a walking tour of the new Seven Points Bike Park.

11:30 pm: Five Ten Skills Clinic – Cornering II: Moderate- to High-Speed Corners.

1:00 pm: SRAM Women’s Skills Clinic – Intermediate riders: Learn to master cornering on your bike. Skills: Flat turns, tight switchback turns, high speed turns, and low speed turns. Location: Skills Area.

1:00 pm – 3pm:  Butler Wobble Unicycle Demos. If you’ve ever thought of trying unicycling, here’s your chance.  We’ll bring the unicycles, you bring the non-clipless shoes and helmet.  We’ll have a keg of root beer to share too!  All ages welcome.

10:00 am: DT Swiss Teen-Only Ride2Lake with Stone Mountain Adventures. Location: Bakers Hollow Parking Lot. Age: 10-17

This year with two ride groups! Descend the trails from Bakers Hollow back to the lake, then jump aboard the houseboat for a ride back. Register in advance at the Stone Mountain Adventures booth. Participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

10:00 am: Rothrock Outfitters Kayak and Paddleboard Demos. Location: Seven Points Marina. Time: 10am- 3pm. Paddle Raystown in demo kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards from NRS, Yolo, Jackson, Current Designs, Wenonah, and Ocean Kayak.

10:00 am: Hair of the Dog Yoga. Location: Seven Points Amphitheater. BYOMat.

10:15 am Five Ten Skills Clinic - Drops: Riding Off of 16-Inch Drops

11:00 am: SRAM Women’s Fun Ride - Join together to close out the weekend. All skill levels, no drop pace. Location: SRAM Booth.

11:30 am: Five Ten Skills Clinic - Manuals: Manual Through Small Bumps and Off Small Drops.

3:00 pm: EXPO CLOSES AND SHUTTLES STOP!

5:00 pm: Dirt Fest closes! All guests must be out of the Campground, gates will be locked.
