Teen Ride Dirtfest '15 hosted by SMA Teen Mountain Biking Summer Camp

Posted by Jud Millar on Sat, May 16, 2015

Stone Mountain Adventures, an overnight teen summer camp will once again be hosting a the Teen and "Tween" ride at Dirtfest 2015!

This ride will begin at 10am on Sunday, May 17th.  Riders between the ages of 10 and 17 will meet at the New Call-to-action Stone Mountain Adventures booth in the expo.  Stone Mountain Adventures Teen Mountain Biking Summer Camp Directors and staff will join in and supervise the ride.

This will be about an 8 mile ride following Eagle trail to Sleek Dog over to Fawn down Osprey onto the Epic Hydro Loop.  Here’s where it gets interesting, when the Hydro Loop drops down to the waters edge we will board a house boat with our bikes and set sail on the waters of Raystown Lake.  Once on the boat we’ll stop for a swim, have some lunch, and return to Susquehannock Campground Site 15 between 12.30 and 1pm.

Mom and dad, this is not a babysitting service, this is a teen and tween mountain bike ride open to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.  Riders must come with their own helmet and bike, or they can demo a bike as well.

Parents must sign a Liability Release Form.

Riders must pre-register either on the Stone Mountain Adventures website or at our booth in the Expo area of Dirtfest.

Stone Mountain Adventures (SMA) is a co-ed overnight teen and "tween" summer camp for 60 teenagers ages 12-16 located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania.

We offer exciting and engaging activities and events everyday including:

Our teen “tween” campers learn new skills, gain self confidence, make strong friendships and become members of our strong, value centered summer community.

Things that make SMA Teen Summer Camp unique are:

  • Young Teen Focused Activities
  • Choose Your Own Activities Everyday
  • Adventures and Camping Overnights Out of Camp
  • Campers increase self confidence and independenc

As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school.

The result is that campers feel a new found freedom to explore who they truly are while at the same time feeling like they have a new “home away from home” at Stone Mountain Adventures.
